About Me

My name is Amit Amlani. I am born in London. In terms of my lifestyle habits, it has fluctuated vastly across the years. Over the course of the decade, there has been a decline in my fitness habits whereby I used the gym for excessive cardio regime in the shape of treadmill, spin or indoor rowing machine. And also hoping to fulfill my tennis aspirations for breaking into the WTA elite, scope was always improbable given the challengers in the pipeline. Lately as the clock veers towards 40, my career aspirations have been creating a presence online. Web creation tools exist in abundance, I veered in direction of merging several components together in a vision to piece this website. I can not thank the following software tool which has supported my development in an offline environment and transitioning into a live environment: Brackets - An open source, modern text editor

I am an IT graduate from University of Westminster in 2004. Having been exposed to numerous technologies thereafter, I somewhat consider my IT expertise as hybrid between a "firefighter" with respect to addressing end user issues and also undertaking learning curve in adapting to several technical skills.

From the somewhat programming orientated degree exposed to programming languages such as C, C++, Java, HTML and assembly language, my career aspirations have somewhat deflected towards a non-software engineering discipline. I have seized opportunties to undertake numerous assignments such as utilisation of JQuery, Excel for VBA within my employment. I have a strong mindset for logic and syntax although given the massive growth in frameworks, it remains a challenge to remain technically abreast on the languages in conjunction with the stacks.

In my spare time, I utilise several learning resources to upskill on numerous fronts. I typically find that skills are not necessarily in direct relation to those sought in employment. This approach is also inherent to instability whereby the syntax vastly differs between languages.

Technologies used at home include Java, SQL. I recently stumbled across two online web resources, which exemplifies the proficiency required to bridge the gap into the software development role. Although given my personal regime, I possess a mindset that certain software programming positions are exempt to those with limited so called "life experiences". Perhaps this non-growth mindset has developed so called 'comfort zone' in numerous walks of life.
